Well… This is the very first post of MyD300.com and as it is the first post I guess I have write a little about myself; MyD300.com, my motivations & purposes. To be brief I am an internet professional living (and working) in Turkey. (Right, I am Turkish) I am a co-founder of an internet company specialized in web management and consulting + web productions. Besides form working on the net I am an amateur photographer and a blogger. So, as these are the ingredients; here is a new blog dedicated to photography. (And to my new Nikon D300)

After using various cameras (and a Nikon D50 for last three years) I decided to buy a new camera a couple of months ago. After thinking a lot I decided on a Nikon D300. (It was November 2007 and D300 had just hit the market) Surprised to see that all the big stores had it pre-order I easily found one in 17Photo.com and bought one immediately. But unfortunately I had to wait till February 2008 to have it in my hands as I had to wait for a friend to come to Turkey. (Because of the customs you cannot buy online electronics from foreign countries.) And why i didn’t buy one from Turkey? Nikon D300 is 1800USD’s in the States and 2500USD’s in Turkey… Anyway.

While waiting for my camera to arrive I started to gather more information from the web sites, online manuals, brochures, forums, galleries… Then I decided to start a new blog about Nikon D300 in order to log the D300 related content in one place. While thinking about the blog thoroughly I realized that it would be unfair to focus on one thing… Yes, I’d be using a D300 for my photography purposes but as my aim is to improve my photography compiling all the info that would help an amateur photographer to enhance himself would be a better idea.  And yes a D300 is the starting point of all.

To reach more people I decided to post in English but aware of the lack of Turkish sources on D300 (and also photography) I will try to post in both languages most of the time. I don’t think that it’ll be word bu word translation but I want to have my content bilingual. (And if you ask I write first in English than Turkish)

So; here it goes: MyD300.com
